Terracotta Gandrung Park is a cultural tourism park built amidst rice fields at the foot of Mount Ijen, Banyuwangi. Specifically, the park is established within the Jiwa Jawa Ijen Resort area.
The owner of this tourism park is Sigit Pramono, a former President Director of BNI. For those of you who have watched a film or are familiar with the historical terracotta tomb site in China, you might immediately connect Terracotta Gandrung Park with that historical site in China.
And indeed, the initiator of this park, Sigit Pramono, admitted that he was inspired by the thousands-of-years-old terracotta site in China. For your information, terracotta is comparable to pottery or earthenware, which is a traditional art form made of clay.
Although entirely built and funded by the private sector, during the grand opening of this park, the Banyuwangi government warmly welcomed the presence of this tourist attraction. Because besides indirectly increasing regional revenue through tourism, the existence of Terracotta Gandrung Park is also a form of appreciation and preservation of local culture.
This is because Gandrung is the name of a traditional dance art originating from Banyuwangi and serves as one of the cultural identities that its people are proud of.
Originally, the Gandrung dance was performed long ago by the local population as an expression of gratitude for an abundant harvest. Therefore, it is not without reason that Terracotta Gandrung Park was built right in the middle of vast rice fields.
If you are interested in visiting, you do not need to worry about getting bored. Because besides the numerous statues of dancers made of terracotta, as soon as you enter this tourism area, you will be greeted by lush green expanses of rice fields and hills, witness the simple lives of the rural community, and frequently enjoy grand art performances such as jazz music festivals in this area.

Jiwa Jawa Resorts hadir di Bromo, Ijen, dan Semarang sebagai hotel yang memadukan lanskap alam pegunungan dengan sentuhan karya seni yang indah.
