Welcome Dance

Twelve Gandrung statues are arranged in a circle, depicting one of the movements from the Jejer Gandrung Kembang Menur dance, known as the MASKOT movement. This dance symbolizes joy, akin to a flower in full bloom, expressing gratitude and happiness for an abundant harvest.

The Gandrung dance generally signifies thanksgiving during harvest. The same applies to Jejer Gandrung, except this traditional dance is primarily focused as a welcome dance to greet guests. According to Mamiek Suharti in Tari Gandrung sebagai Objek Wisata Andalan Banyuwangi (2012), the main essence of the jejer dance is to offer a warm welcome or to greet visitors.
